ABOUT:  Limited Edition Giclee Prints

What is a giclee?
Giclee (jhee-clay) is from the French, meaning to spray on or to spray ink. Giclee is the process of scanning an image on to a computer and printing the reproduction using a high resolution inkjet printer. Giclee prints, were developed in 1989 as a digital method of fine art printing. They are produced on watercolor paper and canvas, much like original paintings. This gives the artist's work a look and feel similar to the original work of art, with the quality being far superior to that of a lithograph or color copy.

What is a limited edition?
A Limited Edition is defined as a high quality reproduction of an original work of art that is numbered and signed individually by the artist with the total number of the reproduction given (i.e. 5/250). Once the edition is sold out (i.e. 250), no more limited edition prints of that image will be produced, which is what can make the print valuable on the resale or secondary market.

What is a Certificate of Authenticity?
The Certificate of Authenticity is intended to protect the consumer by providing pertinent information regarding the print: title, size, process, relevant dates, signature, etc. Rosemary's limited edition giclees are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

What kind of paper do you use for your prints?
Our photographs are available on acid free, archival fine art paper and limited edition giclees are printed on 100% cotton, acid free, archival, watercolor paper, specially treated for the giclee process
